ing in this Williams Entertainment big bang

The Williams stable has already
unleashed Mortal Kombat 3 ($59-$79), with
original fighting skills, lethal combinations
and dead bodies piling up like cordwood.

The Dark Hunter and The Chinese Ghost
wade into monster-fighting mega-action in
Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge, which
pits 10 fighting types from previous incar-
nations of this Capcom game against all
manners of evil. Available now for $64.95.

Ryu, Sagat, Birdie and a whole lot of
other fighting folks return to the battle in
Street Fighter Alpha 2 ($65.95), due from
Capcom in late '96. This punch-up boasts
multiple layers of scrolling, additional moves
and combinations for each character, and
a way to create new attacks. Also for Sony
PlayStation in the fall.

Windows 95



The skinny on Fox Interactive's The X-Files is
that it's a gas, gas, gas! Developed with the
Fox TV show's creator, Chris Carter, it offers
new footage with stars David Duchovny and
Gillian Anderson. This CD-ROM also features
something called Virtual Cinema that'll allow
you to get into Mulder and Scully's database,
examine clues and interact with characters
from the show. Cost is
pending, but look for
this puppy in mid-'97.

ing (cost and shipping

You're the Starfleet
officer who must save
the Federation from the
dreaded Borg in Star
Trek: Borg ($59.95)
from Simon & Schuster
Interactive. This four-
CD package contains
90 minutes of original
footage. Available for Windows 95 in
November 1996 and for Mac in April 1997.

Simon & Schuster is also preparing Star
Trek: Klingon ($69.95), which follows a young
Klingon through his Rite
of Ascension. "The Next
Generation"'s Jonathan
Frakes directed 90 min-
utes of original footage
for this program. Same
availability and release
dates as Star Trek: Borg.

Captains Kirk and
Picard team up to defeat
the evil Soran in Star
Trek Generations, which
offers a mix of first-per-
son action sequences,
ship-to-ship encounters
and lots of "Star Trek"
thrills and suspense.
Based on the 1994 flick,
this Interplay product will be released in
December (cost not yet set). It's also in
development for Sony PlayStation.



"Evil Dead" actor Bruce Campbell voices
the ultimate warrior-Finn, who's half-man,
half-shark-in the mondo-agresso blast-
away Cold Blooded from the hardcore folks
at 7th Level. Your mission, should you
choose to accept it? Bring peace and har-
mony to a mutilated universe and tell a

pack of warring gods where to get off. And
be home by dinner time! Available in
September (price to be determined).

Are you ready to tempt the sex-starved
ladies of Castle Anthrax? If so, then you might
just be up to the rigors of Monty Python and
the Quest for the Holy Grail ($49.99) from
7th Level. This brain-busting assortment of
logic puzzles, games, clues and out-of-whack
medieval scenarios is currently available.



Lord Ironfist's sons take up the sword
as civil war once again threatens Enroth in
Heroes of Might and Magic II: The Succession
Wars ($59.95) from New World Comput-
ing. This December release features new
characters, large supergraphic battlefields
and quests, spells and magic at every turn.

Travel deep into the bowels of Hell,
fighting the powers of evil and darkness in
Diablo ($50) from Blizzard Entertainment.

This game features battle net action that
allows players free access to multiplayer
play over the Internet. Out in August.

Nintendo 64

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire ($79.95),
from the Nintendo creative mine, reunites
Luke, Leia, Chewie, Darth Vader and Boba
Fett and adds a new hero, dashing pilot Dash
Rendar. This complex action-adventure tale
features double-crosses, deceit, heroism and
all that good stuff as well as numerous oppor-
tunities to blast the forces of evil into another
galaxy. Available in September.

The highlights of Blizzard Entertainment's
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness ($50) include
fantasy combat on land and sea and in the
air against dragons and death knights.
