Card Collector Confidential

BLACK DRAGON PRESS

With Dragon Storm due in early June, three more Dragon Storm products
were announced. Coming this Summer is Dragon Storm Adventures Book I, a
32-page book describing the world of Grandilar, with scenarios for Dragon
Storm. Coming in November is The Kanchaka Campaign, the first expansion
for Dragon Storm. And finally, the Dragon Storm Book: Adventures in the
Kanchaka Valley ships in December.

CORGLENBURG

Corglenburg has announced their first Gangland! expansion,
Murder Incorporated! The set of 125 cards comes in 8-card
Boosters for $1.99. Look for it August 15.

DECIPHER

Star Trek: The Next Generation lineup... Q-Continuum (late 1996) - a large
percentage of these cards will involve Q-related mischief and the possibility
of a "side game" - cards will function in a manner similar to the way Q often
kidnapped Picard & Company to play "games" during the series. Holodeck
Adventures (1997) - will further develop the holographic recreations intro-
duced in the intial set of cards. This set will also contain some new gameplay
elements and a new linking card... A Holodeck Door. All Good Things... (late
1997) - will deliver cards that weave together and conclude plot threads and
storylines begun in the first three expansion sets.

DONRUSS

Pinnacle Brands has purchased the sport card division of
Dontruss. So far, this has had no effect on the entertainment
and collectible card games divisions. Donruss still antici-
pates a late-July release for X-Files. NXT Games is on sched-
ule with the game design and promise more details soon!

STEVE JACKSON GAMES

Coming in August will be Dino Hunt, a time-traveling
card game involving the capture of dinosaurs. At $29.95,
you get 124 cards, rules, 'other components' and four
plastic dinosaurs (the best part?). For collectors, Booster
packs will be available.

TOPPS CARD GAMES

Shipping in June is Killer Instinct, Topps' first collectible
card game. Based on the hugely successful Nintendo game,
Topps has described it as the ultimate fighting game, come-
to-cards. The $9.95 Starter decks contain 3 Rares,
18 Uncommons, 39 Commons, and an official rulebook.
The $2.75 Booster Packs have 1 Rare, 3 Uncommons, and
8 Commons. Look for promo cards in the next few months...

FLEER/SKYBOX

Star Trek Collectible Card Game: the 65-card
Starter decks each have Kirk, Spock, McCoy,
and the Enterprise, and will retail for $8.95.
The 15-card Boosters will retail for $2.95. The
set has 308 cards with five levels of rarity:
Ultracommon (example:
Kirk), Common,
Uncommon, Rare, and Very
Rare. Card types include
Crew cards, challenge
cards, effect cards, mission
cards, and wild cards.

Two or more players can
participate in the game and
all players may use the four
core crew cards that are
placed in the center of
the table at the beginning
of the game. Other char-
acters can be integrated
into the game to accom-
pany the core crew on
missions that players des-
ignate, or the core crew
can go out alone. Mission
counters are earned by
crew members and allotted to the away team
as players choose, and represent points towards
winning the game.

After a turn is completed and victory coun-
ters are allocated, players can begin to see the
results: the construction of a Star Trek episode.
The game allows for the swapping of elements
of several episodes to create one's own episode.
However, if an actual episode is recreated, a
bonus is earned.

Also, one of our spies has reported that
Fleer recently acquired the Babylon 5 CCG
license. It's all hush, hush, so you didn't read it
here.

FPG

Dark Age:
Feudal Lords,
FPG's second
collectible card
game, is set for a
July release. The game features a
fast-paced combat system and gor-
geous art. Heading the list is Brom,
with more than 75 new pieces! The
other artists are John Berkey, Rick
Berry, John Bolton, Tim Bradstreet,
Dave Dorman, Bob Eggleton, Phil
Hale, Henry Higginbotham, and
John Zeleznik.

Dark Age: Feudal Lords consists
of 225 cards, including 5 chase
cards. Each Starter deck will contain
65 cards (4 Rares, 13 Uncommons,
48 Commons), a Dark Age sticker, 4
special dice, and a full-color rule-
book. The 10-card Boosters will con-
tain 1 Rare, 3 Uncommons, and 6
Commons.

This will be followed by The
Dark Age CD-BROM, a screen-saver.
Coming this winter is Dark Age: The
Brood, which focuses on the geneti-
cally altered hellspawn of the Earth's
grim future. Because The Brood is a
Dark Age game, players can play
their decks against an opponent's
Feudal Lords deck without altering
the rules for either game.

Drifter's Nexus is out! The sec-
ond Guardians expansion has a ton
of industry parody cards such as
Small Mox (small pox), Black Locust,
Lizards on the Toast, Maitz Motel
(Bates Motel) and the screamer, You
Can't See Me I'm a Vampire card,
guest illustrated by Tim Bradstreet.
