card summaries listed above to find overlapping
cards (e.g., Method and Result share many
defensive cards).
Second, note from the card summaries
which cards work in all of the above situations.
Cards such as, Evasive Maneuvers and any
Healing cards, will benefit all decks. You may
note that no mention of the X card has been
made in this article. X is an ultra-rare and as
such it could not be assumed that everyone
would have access to it. X is the most powerful
Adversary negate in the game, and if it is possi-
ble to include one or two in your deck, by all
means do so!
Finally, timing is crucial in planning your
investigations. When assigning cases you need
to be aware not only of the types of Adversaries
that can be played on your Site, but of the
amount of CP that your opponent has in the
pool and the cost of the Adversaries that can tar-
get your Site. In the above lists, each Adversary's
cost is listed. Barring a Bluff or some other trick,
your opponent can only play Adversaries that he
can pay for. If you know which Adversaries can
be played on your Site, and the cost of those
Adversaries, you can predict which Adversaries
you are likely to run into, and plan accordingly.

Following is a sample strategy for the defense
of your Agent Team. If you follow it step-by-step
it should help you understand the concepts dis-
cussed in this article.
1. Select your Team: For this example, I will take
Agent Dana Scully (7), Agent Jack Willis (4),
Agent Nancy Spiller (4), and Lt. Brian Tillman,
Aubry Police Department (4).
2. The skills I will concentrate on will be
Medical (7), Sciences (7), and Evidence
Collection (7).
3. The questions I will target are Affiliation,
Method, and Result. All of these questions can
be asked using Sites that have one of the skills
that I'm concentrating on as a Prerequisite.
4. Using the above card summaries, I see that
the cards that I need to defend with include the
Evasive Maneuvers Event card, The Calusari
Witness card, Sheriff Mazeroski Witness card, Dr.
Daniel Trepkos Witness card, Dr. Blockhead
Witness card, First Aid (Combat), Successful
Diagnosis (Event), Medical Treatment (Event),
Medi-Kit (Equipment), Hospital Crash Cart
(Equipment). A total of twenty cards if I take the
maximum of two of each card. Now I can select
which cards and how many of each card to take.
I should be able to reduce the total to about ten
to fifteen cards.
