1997 is just around the corner and
games like Star Trek: The Next Generation,
the new Dune and DC OverPower are set to
deliver some of the most exciting things
since the early days of Lotuses and Liches.

In fact, with the steady resurgence in
collectible card games and the continued
expansion of roleplaying games, it looks
like we're going to see more cool stuff
than ever before. Just take a gander at
what the coming year has in store for us...

COLLECTIBLE CARD GAMES



ALIEN ENCOUNTERS: In March, Fleer/Sky-
Box's second Star Trek: The Card Game
expansion hits the streets. Alien Encoun-
ters focuses on the second half of the orig-
inal Star Trek's second season. The
180-card set is derived from episodes like
"The Ultimate Computer" and "A Piece
of the Action." 15-card boosters. $2.75.

CHAOS PLAGUE, THE: This single-deck game
will chronicle the catastrophic events in
On The Edge's Al Amarja as the Control-
dominated world collides with an alter-
nate reality where chaos reigns. Like Atlas'
previous release, Lunch Money, The Chaos
Plague will be sold as a complete 110-card
set. It's due during the middle of 1997.
$15-20.

CRIMSON AND JADE: After the catastrophic
events in Anvil of Despair, each clan will
face individual sacrifices in the struggle to
maintain honor in the face of evil. Crimson
and Jade will be a 150-card March release
for Legend of the Five Rings. 11-card boost-
ers. $1.95.




DARK EDEN: This new Heartbreaker card
game follows the return of the Doomtrooper
civilization to the ancestral home of
mankind, where it is found Earth is not
quite the blasted wasteland everyone
thought. According to Owner/President
Bob Watts, "Where Doomtrooper is one-
on-one combat, Dark Eden is more like war
between armies." 300-card set. 60-card
