Okay fans, it's that time of year again -
time to find out just which collectible
card game is the roughest and the
toughest of the lot. In each of the first two
Ultimate Chaos competitions (InQuest #1 and
InQuest #12) Magic outlasted seven other
competitors in a grand melee to take the title.

In the spirit of college basketball's NCAA
March Madness, we paired off 32 collectible
card games and put them into a single-elim-
ination bracket. In each contest the games
tried to win by fulfilling their own victory con-
ditions or by thwarting their opponent. The
one card game that fought its way up the gru-
eling ladder of competing sorcerers, super-
heros and spacefarers would be crowned the
1997 Ultimate Chaos champion...
